About the Sport Gloves
The finish lineup
Sport Gloves carry a small, curated set of finishes rather than a sprawling list. The premium tier is led by Vice, a pink-to-teal gradient that is the single most recognisable glove in the game and a long-running price benchmark for the whole category, and Pandora's Box, a purple-and-bronze marbled finish that was the original flagship from the Glove Case. Mid-tier finishes include Amphibious (deep blue with a bright cyan stripe), Omega, Hedge Maze, Bronze Morph and Big Game. The accessible end is anchored by Slingshot, Arid and Nocts, which are the usual entry point for players who want the Sport model on a smaller budget. Because the model itself drives demand, even the cheaper finishes hold a premium over comparable patterns on bulkier glove models.
Float and how wear actually shows
Gloves do not behave like weapon skins on wear. Their visible float range is compressed and the textures are authored to look broken-in even at the low end, so a Factory New pair of Sport Gloves still shows fabric grain and seam wear — there is no mirror-clean FN look here. What float controls is fading: higher-wear pairs lose colour saturation and pick up scuffing, which matters most on the gradient finishes. Low-float Vice and Amphibious keep their colours vivid, while Field-Tested and Well-Worn examples wash out toward grey. This is why Minimal Wear and Field-Tested are the practical sweet spot for most buyers, and why true Factory New gloves command a disproportionate premium on the colour-heavy patterns.
How to obtain them and where price comes from
Sport Gloves only drop from cases that include the glove pool — you cannot craft, trade up, or earn them from drops. You either unbox one directly (paying for keys against the ~0.26% glove odds) or buy the exact finish and float on the market, which is what almost everyone does. Price is driven by three things in order: the finish (Vice and Pandora's Box vastly outvalue Slingshot or Arid), the wear/float (low float on gradient finishes), and pattern variation, since the gradient placement and pattern index shift the look from pair to pair. Unlike Case Hardened weapons there is no single 'blue gem' jackpot pattern, but collectors do pay up for well-centred, high-saturation gradients.
Sport vs other glove models
Against the rest of the lineup, Sport Gloves read as the sleek, premium choice. They are slimmer and more form-fitting than Moto Gloves, Hand Wraps or Specialist Gloves, and far less bulky than Hydra or Bloodhound styles, so finishes sit flat and readable on the hand. Specialist Gloves are their closest price rival at the high end (the Crimson Kimono and Fade tiers), but Sport keeps the edge on the most-wanted single item thanks to Vice. If you want maximum visibility of a colourful finish in first person, Sport is the model to target; if you want a chunkier, more textile look, the Hand Wraps or Moto models are the alternative. In Russian the category is just перчатки; Sport Gloves are commonly called спортивки.
